Expanded Recycling Program

Did you know that Santa Fe has expanded our recycling program? Due to a new contract with Friedman Recycling of Albuquerque, residents can now put more materials into their curbside bins or the containers at the convenience centers.

What's new?

  • ALL Plastic Containers, we are no longer referring to the number. If it's a plastic container, please recycle it!
  • ALL Paper products. This includes traditional items such as office paper, newspaper, junk mail, magazines, cardboard but also now includes cereal boxes, soda/beer cases, toilet/paper towel rolls, frozen food containers and all other paper products.
  • Aluminum and Steel Cans. We are still collecting all of the metal containers that come out of your house. In addition please recycle any clean aluminium foil products.
  • Glass Bottles & Jars. We are continuing to recycle all of the glass containers coming from the community. If you live in the City, please use your "Glass Only" bin for all of your glass. If you live in the County, each convenience center has a separate bin for glass bottles and jars. Please do NOT place your glass containers with the other mixed recycling.
  • If you click on the Recycle tab above, we have a visual reference guide which you can download. The files are split up between City & County and are towards the bottom of the page
