Celebrate Earth Day EVERY day!

April 22nd of every year has been designated as Earth Day since 1970. We encourage all residents of the City of Santa Fe and Santa Fe County to do their part and help protect 'Mother Earth' by participating in local events.

This weekend is the Graffiti Wipe Out event sponsored by Keep Santa Fe Beautiful. Come joint volunteers in 'wiping' out graffiti in the community. Please check out Keep Santa Fe Beautiful's website for all the details.

On April 18, 2015, come to the Genoveva Chavez Center located on Rodeo Road to celebrate Earth Day in our community! There will be information, games, dancing and outreach from groups in the community. The event will happen from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Please check out the Chavez Center website for the details.

On April 25, 2015, Keep Santa Fe Beautiful will be participating in the Great American Cleanup sponsored nationally by Keep America Beautiful . All of the details can be found at Keep Santa Fe Beautiful's website .

On April 25 & 26, 2015, the Buckman Road Recycling and Transfer Station (BuRRT) will be hosting "Trash" Amnesty days. Residents can bring in any trash (e.g. garbage, construction and demolition, old furniture, appliances, gravel and stone, etc.) for FREE. BuRRT will be open during normal business hours on both days, 8:00 a.m.-4:45 p.m. Items such as electronic waste, green waste, household hazardous waste and tires will carry the normal charges. As always, recycling will be free. Please Note: This event does NOT apply to the Santa Fe County Convenience Centers. Please call 424-1850 x 420 with any questions you might have.
